Cornerstone OnDemand, a cloud-based talent management software services firm, announced its launch of Cornerstone Volunteer Management, a new service for managing corporate and nonprofit volunteer programs and matching volunteers with relevant opportunities.
With the service, users can track each volunteer’s pertinent skill sets, align capabilities and experience to the particular needs of a volunteer opportunity, and assign volunteers to relevant positions based on compatibility, timing and desire.
Other benefits of the service include the ability to publish and promote available volunteer opportunities, as well as schedule alerts and notifications for specific events.
Dashboard and reporting tools provide visual summaries for tracking, evaluating and reporting on volunteer participation.
The 2011 Deloitte Volunteer IMPACT Survey suggests that employers who connect the dots between talent and volunteerism have the opportunity to strengthen employee engagement. According to the study, millennials who frequently participate in workplace volunteer activities are more likely to take pride in their company and feel satisfied with the progression of their career.
