The 2015 Spring CLO Symposium offers multiple ways for you to add to your learning industry knowledge. Panel discussions give you that chance by way of debate, as learning executives and thought leaders discuss their views on hot industry trends.
Here’s a preview of what’s planned for the upcoming Spring panel discussions.
On Monday, April 13, at 3pm, Hunt Lambert, dean of continuing education and extension at Harvard University, and Wayne Smutz, dean of continuing education and extension at the University of California, Los Angeles, will sit down for their panel discussion titled “Emotional Intelligence: Worthwhile or Worthless?”.
In a debate about whether managers should focus on hard or soft skills, panel attendees will hear Lambert (@huntlambert) and Smutz’s views on the future of leadership skills and where to target learning to deliver the greatest bottom-line impact.
Then on Wednesday, April 15, at 9:15am, Sydney Savion, Dell Inc.'s global learning officer, and other learning leaders will get together for “So Much Learning, So Little Time,” which will help you find creative ways to fit learning and development into your employees’ busy days.
In this session, attendees will hear:
- Innovative approaches for attracting and communicating development opportunities.
- Creative ways to engineer learning and reduce the time burden for employees.
- Alternative learning formats and techniques that promise to maximize learners’ time.
More details to come as we move closer to the 2015 Spring CLO Symposium. We hope to see you at 3pm on both Monday and Wednesday for what will certainly be two excellent panel discussions on the current trends and future of learning.
