Chicago, May 3 — Today, MediaTec Publishing Inc. announced the appointment of Dr. Stacey L.T. Boyle as vice president of research and advisory services for the integrated media company, which serves the human capital management and workforce development industries. In her post, Boyle will lead the 2011 launch of The Learning Elite, Chief Learning Officer magazine’s recently unveiled annual benchmarking program that ranks the best companies for learning and development. She also will have overall responsibility for MediaTec’s portfolio of industry intelligence reports, readership surveys and research initiatives associated with its publications and e-media.
“When we made the decision to launch The Learning Elite and fill the void left by the demise of the Training Top 125 — the annual ranking previously conducted by the now-defunct Training magazine — we took a big step forward in our goal to become the de facto leader in industry benchmarking and research,” said Norm Kamikow, president and editor in chief of MediaTec Publishing. “Bringing Dr. Boyle on board to lead these efforts ensures the integrity, quality and validity of all our research products and reinforces our reputation as the premier resource for human capital development thought leadership worldwide. We are delighted to have her on the team.”
A published author in the area of workforce learning and a familiar face in the industry, Boyle holds a Ph.D. in educational research and evaluation from Oklahoma State University and has extensive experience in quantitative and qualitative research design and program and product assessment. Before joining MediaTec, she was vice president of client services at Element K, senior director of blended learning services at SkillSoft and a practice director for Thomson NETg’s evaluation services. Earlier in her career, she served as program evaluator for NASA and training evaluator for Andersen Consulting (Accenture).
In her role as director of The Learning Elite program, Boyle brings her expertise in advanced statistical concepts and measurement to bear in recognizing excellence in employer-sponsored learning and development. The rankings, which help learning organizations benchmark performance against best-of-breed companies and industry best practices, are based on both quantitative and qualitative assessments of learning programming, as well as its human resources and business impact.
In addition, as vice president of MediaTec’s research and advisory services, Boyle has overall responsibility for Chief Learning Officer magazine’s Business Intelligence Board research, Talent Management magazine’s annual “State of the Industry Report” and ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of workforce diversity and inclusion, undertaken in association with Diversity Executive magazine. She also takes the lead on editorial readership surveys and proprietary research projects the company conducts for many industry suppliers.
“I am thrilled to be joining an organization that is so well respected and widely recognized as a leader in the human capital development industry,” Boyle said. “I look forward to further enhancing MediaTec’s reputation for incisive, insightful, industry-changing research and benchmarking.”
