Jericho, N.Y. and Warrenville, Ill.
HCCS, a provider of online health care compliance and competency training, and CourseAvenue, the leader in learning content authoring systems, announce a unique strategic partnership formed to bring CourseAvenue's eComply compliance courses to the health care industry.

These crucial human resource and health care compliance training courses can be customized easily to meet an organization's specific needs. The content was written by industry experts at CCH, a part of Wolters Kluwer Law & Business, a provider of research products and software solutions in key specialty areas for legal and business professionals. All of the courses developed on the CourseAvenue platform adhere to industry standards, such as AICC and SCORM, making publication and launching of the eComply series on the HCCS Health Learning Platform (HLP) seamless.

"HCCS is pleased to add CourseAvenue's eComply Series of courses to our extensive health care catalog," said Ben Diamond, president of HCCS. "These e-learning courses allow us to leverage our technology and expertise in order to meet the compliance and training needs of an even wider range of health care organizations. With these new courses, HCCS expands its leadership in delivering solutions to the health care provider and health plan industry to address the growing demand for regulatory, compliance and competency learning tools."

Through CourseAvenue's hybrid development approach, the series' authors have been able to identify specific elements of the off-the-shelf courseware as consumer editable, allowing a health care organization to tailor that content to its individual needs.

"This exciting new partnership expands e-learning options for health care organizations," said Joe Gorup, CEO of CourseAvenue. "CourseAvenue now allows the consumer organization to purchase training with the ability to add customized content, directly into the course."

In addition to personalization such as custom introductions and adding local policies and procedures, clients can also incorporate their own look and feel, complete with logo, color schemes and navigational elements, into the e-learning courseware through CourseAvenue's hybrid e-learning program.

Topics covered in the 105-course series for health care include HIPAA compliance, benefit and coverage issues, marketing and communications issues and security. The 13 courses in the human resource series provides in-depth training in areas such as discrimination and harassment prevention, discipline and violence prevention training, among others.
