Accordent Technologies, a provider of enterprise rich-media communications solutions, has announced that Linklaters, one of the world’s largest international law firms, has deployed a full-scale Accordent rich-media creation and management solution as the foundation for distributing best-of-breed expertise from 18 practice areas among its lawyers and staff located around the world’s major finance and commercial centers.
Linklaters deployed the Accordent rich-media communications system as a core component of its globalization plans.
With 30 offices in 23 countries, Linklaters’ ability to provide legal expertise across diverse practice areas — from capital markets to technology — has been increasingly challenged.
The Accordent solution has enabled Linklaters to rapidly produce and distribute multimedia training materials that keep foreign nationals immediately apprised of changes in English law to ensure that all offices are well-versed in the most topical cross-section of legal expertise.
To capture valuable information while it is being presented, Linklaters deployed multiple Accordent Capture Station units in training and meeting rooms throughout the organization.
The Accordent Capture Station is a turnkey appliance that captures and synchronizes video, audio and images and publishes them as dynamic, interactive rich-media communications that are then delivered live and made available for on-demand review, over Linklaters’ worldwide corporate network.
“Accordent is an all-encompassing technology that allows the firm to create, publish and manage content — from start to finish," said Neil Thomas, Linklaters strategy consultant. "And because it’s simple to use, it lowers administrative costs since IT doesn’t have to look after the publishing of all presentations.”
The Accordent Media Management System is pivotal to the deployment, enabling Linklaters to centrally manage its growing library of rich media assets via a customized portal.
The Accordent Media Management System also allows Linklaters to protect its intellectual property by controlling and authenticating viewer access and to track and report on viewer statistics to measure the effectiveness of training materials.
The system provides precise search capabilities that automatically parse a wide array of presentation metadata, including speaker name, presentation chapters and descriptions and optional closed caption and other presentation text.
“Law and professional services firms that provide high-stakes advice to multinational organizations increasingly rely on Accordent as a fundamental competitive differentiator,” said Mike Newman, Accordent Technologies CEO. “Our solutions give these firms the unparalleled ability to convert knowledge from expert practitioners into online, on-demand assets that partners can access anywhere, at any time.”
The Accordent Rich Media Communications Suite is the only automated, end-to-end infrastructure for creating, distributing, managing and measuring the effectiveness of multimedia presentation assets.
In addition to the Accordent Capture Station, the company’s rich-media creation products include its flagship Accordent PresenterPRO (a live and on-demand webcasting solution with interactive features such as polling, surveys and moderated Q&A) and Accordent Engage, a behind-the-firewall, enhanced audio webcasting system that enables multimedia webcasting from the desktop.
The Accordent Media Management System is the first centralized online communications management infrastructure for ingesting, organizing, searching, publishing and securing multilevel access to Accordent presentations and other multimedia communications — including archived Web- and video-conferences.
