According to recent research from Expertus and Training Industry Inc., 92 percent of 113 learning leaders surveyed felt pressure to cut costs, making efficiency an even more important objective as uncertain economic times lay ahead.
Unfortunately, many learning organizations are not being run efficiently.
“Although learning executives have the best intentions, the focus is often on content and deployment and not running the organization like a business,” said Ramesh Ramani, CEO and founder of Expertus. “Taking the time to audit the organization’s efficiency and define inefficiencies can change an organization overnight.”
The following are some tips from Expertus’ white paper, “Eliminate Waste and Reap the Rewards,” that outline how to increase efficiency:
Tip 1: Consolidate and Centralize Learning Technologies.
By reducing the number of systems and simplifying infrastructure, companies will decrease costs and improve data success and reporting.
Tip 2: Convert ILT to Blended or E-Learning.
Organizations should work to leverage the benefits that e-learning provides: availability, reusability and effectiveness.
Tip 3: Optimize Learning Technology Support and Administration.
Organizations don’t have to buy, implement and manage learning technology now that a growing number of LMS providers offer software as a hosted service.
