KATHLEEN PRIME
Senior Vice President, Director of Talent Development, PNC Financial Services
After multiple acquisitions, PNC Financial Services had no centralized, enterprise-wide talent development architecture or leadership development program. Performance management approaches also were inconsistent throughout the company. Kathleen Prime, senior vice president and director of talent, organized a small team to create company-wide leadership competencies and assessments as well as a comprehensive development and succession planning process. The corporation added new leadership programs including Women’s Executive Development, Dynamic Leadership, Standardized Team Effectiveness and Mentoring for Leadership. In 2011, the first year of full implementation, more than 10 percent of employees participated in leadership development programs, and the number of individuals identified in succession planning increased 52 percent.
