Sept. 29, 2005 – Ted Hoff, vice president of learning at IBM, was named CLO of the Year today at Chief Learning Officer magazine’s Fall 2005 CLO Symposium. Last year’s winner of the top CLO Learning In Practice award, Gen. Frank Anderson Jr., president of Defense Acquisition University, presented the honor to Hoff. The CLO of the Year award was one of 19 Learning In Practice awards presented.
Hoff was singled out by judges as CLO of the Year for his work establishing a vision and implementing strategy and innovation to help support IBM’s massive workforce of more than 300,000 professionals. Hoff’s efforts were cited as contributing to a 35 percent increase in sales and 31 percent increase in revenue. Hoff was also honored with two other Learning in Practice awards, the Silver Award in the “Learning Innovation” and “Strategic Alignment” categories.
